From Crying to Smiling #99

1 Samuel 1:12-18
12 Now it came about, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli was watching her mouth.
13 As for Hannah, she was speaking in her heart, only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk.
14 Then Eli said to her, "How long will you make yourself drunk? Put away your wine from you.
15 But Hannah answered and said, "No, my lord, I am a woman oppressed in spirit; I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have poured out my soul before the LORD.
16 "Do not consider your maidservant as a worthless woman; for I have spoken until now out of my great concern and provocation."
17 Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him."
18 And she said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
(NAS)

Do you have a need so great that even your face shows the sadness you feel? Hannah wanted a child and was unable to have one. She cried unto the Lord to send her a son. Eli the priest saw her and thought she was drunk. She explained her need and Eli told her that because of God’s graciousness she would receive her son. Her face was no longer sad. God desires to meet your need today. Cry unto Him and expect an answer to your request. He is full of grace and love for you and His grace is sufficient to meet your deepest desire. Thank God and smile.

I hope you find purpose for your life today as you grow in Christ. May God bless you as your spiritual life prospers in Jesus.

_________________________Today's personal note from Dennis

Greetings from HOT AZ. The thermometer is supposed to break the 110 degree mark the next couple of days. (But it is a dry heat, just like your oven)

God continues to bless Sandy and both with physical and spiritual strength. I am back at Starbucks where doors for ministry continue. Sandy and I attend a Life Group on Sunday mornings at Church on Mill. We enjoy the study and the fellowship.

We are less than a month away from our trip to South Dakota. Plans are being made for a trip to Louisiana in September and to Ohio for a conference in November. I still am praying for opportunities to preach in AZ. Join with me in praying for that to happen.

God bless you today. ~DGW
