Been Blessed? #98

Psalms 67:1 God be gracious to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us--Selah.
2 That Thy way may be known on the earth, Thy salvation among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; let all the peoples praise Thee.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for Thou wilt judge the peoples with uprightness, and guide the nations on the earth. Selah.
5 Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; let all the peoples praise Thee.
6 The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.
7 God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him. (NAS)

Has God blessed you, or your family, or your church, or job lately? Did you ask Him to bless you? Would you feel right about asking for a special blessing from God? According to the Psalmist, King David, we should ask God for a blessing, but for a reason. David asks for God to be gracious to Israel, to bless them and to cause His face to shine on them. The reason was so that the ways of God would be known to the whole earth and that salvation would spread to the ends of the earth.

The blessings of God also brought praise to God’s name. You were created to praise God and His blessings encourage you to praise Him. No doubt the main reason God would bless you is that others would know Him. “That all the ends of the earth would fear, respect, honor and know Him.” Why not ask God for a blessing today, not in order to brag about your worthiness to receive a blessing, but in order to brag on God and tell people about Him. Ask and you will receive.

I hope you find purpose for your life today as you grow in Christ. May God bless you as your spiritual life prospers in Jesus.

__________________________Today's personal note from Dennis

Greetings this morning from the beautiful high country of AZ. Sandy and I are in Payson camping with the three grandsons. I am sitting outside in this nice low 50's weather. Not looking forward to going back to the heat on Saturday down in the Valley of the SUN. As usual I try to share my story of God's amazing grace with as many as will listen. Doors for witness seem always open. Pray for preaching and teaching opportunities for both me and Sandy. We miss teaching. God bless and enjoy your summer vacation.
