I Am His #293

1 Corinthians 1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, 5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Who are you? What is your name? What does your name mean? What is God’s name for you? God has many special names for you as a believer in Jesus Christ. The Bible contains a letter written to a church with a lot of serious problems. They were divided over which leader was the best. They were suing one another in pagan courts. They got drunk at the Lord’s Supper. And maybe worst of all there was incest within the church.
How would you approach them? The Apostle Paul reminds them of their name; a name given to them by God when they believed. So the Bible calls them sanctified and saints. To be sanctified means they are made holy and set apart for God’s purpose. The Bible says they are recipients of God’s grace. They received all the gifts necessary for ministry.
The Bible eventually says that they will be confirmed to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is God that calls us into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ. So who are you? If you are in Christ no matter what is going on in your life God is faithful to you. You are His and you have received a new name.

Greetings from Starbucks in beautiful Tempe, AZ

Resurrection Sunday (Easter) is only a few weeks away. I am already excited about the celebration of not only the Risen Lord, but our Life in Him. Churches across the world will come together to share the Blessed Day of our Lord Jesus Christ's resurrection. Join with some church group to rejoice in your new life.

Sandy's brother, Sammy, was with us over the weekend. It was good to spend time with him. He spent one morning with Justin and Johnny. All three of them had a great time. We celebrated Sandy and my birthday with the whole family on Saturday evening. My birthday was on March 20 and her birthday will be April 11. Hard to get the whole family together so we have learned to join parties together.

Collin had his big band concert on Tuesday. He played in the Tempe Youth Wind Symphony. It is a band consisting of high school and jr high school students throughout the Tempe school district. They did a superb job.

Sandy and I are having her "Young Mom's Group" along with their children and husbands to our home for a BBQ on Saturday. She loves these young moms. I am eager to meet all of them and their families.

I continue to preach at the Intersect Service in the LOFT at the First Baptist Church. I know it is confusing, but the service is just one of the many on Sunday morning at FBC.
It is a joy for me to share God's Word with this congregation. Some of you have asked, "Where is the LOFT CHURCH?"  There is no LOFT CHURCH. It is just a location in a building, THE LOFT meaning up stairs. Sorta like the Upper Room.

I continue to request your prayers. I have met with several specialists over the past two weeks and still have more to come. It seems they all want Lab Work; so I get poked a lot. I am still having a lot of pain. The fever returned on Saturday night and has been my companion since. I am writing this from Starbucks with 100.4 fever. Nothing seems to help. Thanks for your prayers and your concern. I try to keep on going.

I so love and appreciate you. Thanks for your words of encouragement to me.  ~ DGW
